SEMINAR: "The Role of Global Value Chains During the Crisis: Evidence from Spanish and European Firms" joint With Marcell Jansen. Aranzazu Crespo (Middlesex University, UK). 

Aranzazu Crespo is Assistant Professor at the University of Middlesex. Her research focuses on international trade, economic development, competitiveness and economic policy. She has been Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute. She holds a PhD  in Economics from the Carlos III University of Madrid in June 2013 under the supervision of Professor Klaus Desmet.

This seminar focuses on the role played by global value chains in the European debt crisis as well as political challenges facing Spain. To do this, Aranzazu Crespo will provide a comparative analysis of Spanish exports, identifying the industries whose shares of value added are more important and, finally, she analyzes the capacity of global value chains to amplify or stabilize the economic crisis.


This seminar will be taught in the classroom D011 of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales on Tuesday 17 at 10.30.
